The American Robin is one of North America's best known songbirds, and is widespread and abundant throughout most of the continent.
They have adapted well to urbanisation and are a common sight in suburban gardens and parks.
Although it can be found throughout the year in most of the USA and in southwestern British Columbia the American Robin is, as it's scientific name suggests, largely migratory, and vagrants occassionally reach western Europe.
